1) Mining Sub-committee hit the ground running
The Mining Sub-committee hit the ground running with a meeting of the management team on the 23rd Jan. They predict a busy year with a number of issues on their plate including ecological mapping and reporting, the PSMP process, compensation, Centennial land management, and methane.

2) Book Club experience a thriller with many twists
New members welcome
The next meeting of the Mandalong Book Club will be at 7.30 on 13 February at the home of Frances Dunn at 28 Frost Rd, Cooranbong. The book being discussed is Fingersmith by Sarah Waters, a carefully plotted thriller with many twists. Telephone Frances if you are coming on 4977 2243.
The book we will read for the following March meeting will be Before I go to Sleep by S J Watson, a highly recommended novel about among other things, contemporary problems of women. It is not in a Book Box but there are 9 copies in our library system which we hope you will be able to order yourselves.

3) Film Club to choose films for 2012.
So many films...so little time!
The Film Club people know the drill. We gather at the home of David and Sheila Kearns, 29 Little Valley Road on the forth Friday of every month at 7.30pm. We bring drinks and yummy nibblies, a love of films and a good natter.
We watch the movie, which starts at 8pm, in the Kearns gorgeous home theatre and then have supper.
