Mandalong Community Association News #91

Dear Friends,

A huge thank you to those who participated at the PAC Hearing. Many people attended and the presentations were outstanding. We were given professional and insightful support from people in Dora Creek and Eraring and from 2 submissions made by experts appointed on our behalf by the EDO. (These are attached)

We now wait several weeks for the determination.

Here is your News Update. Lots of things happening including the Get Ready fire weekend. Take a few minutes to check it out.

Best wishes,

Your  MCA management team

Mandalong Community Association News #90

Dear Mandalong friends,

A reminder about the LMCC proposed  new Burn Policy.

LMCC is inviting residents to comment. We have till 3 August to respond.

Following information given in the previous News Update on how to make your submission, this News Update includes an article written by Sandy Kosh which you will find very helpful  in making your submission.

Please do take the few minutes to make a submission.

LMCC have not taken rural land management in to consideration in formulating this policy....and, unless we can persuade them otherwise, we will get stuck with a policy unsuited to Mandalong landowners.

Request from Hunter Local Land Services

Hunter Local Land Services are seeking a couple of landholders with stock and pasture to assist them with their Seasonal Condition Reporting. Landholders would provide  details of monthly rainfall, infrastructure, water, pasture and livestock condition on a monthly basis. The only 'hard' data collection is that of monthly rainfall totals. The other data is observational. Ideally interested landholders would already be collecting rainfall measurements for their own records. The information supplied is correlated by HLLS Pasture Officer and then submitted to DPI to inform on actual on-ground impacts and implications.
