MCA Christmas Message 2014
MCA Management Committee wish all Mandalong residents a peaceful Christmas and good health and fortune for 2015.
We wish to thank those who have contributed to the welfare of the Mandalong community over the past year.
To Angela, Tracey, Mandy, Brian, Leonie, Col and Mick, the team who are currently putting so much effort preparing for the Planning Assessment Commission (PAC) presentations regarding the Mandalong South extension, a huge thank you.
To Joan Satchwell who manages the Book Club, our deep appreciation.
To David and Sheila who host our monthly Film Club nights and, a few weeks ago our Mandalong Christmas Party, our heartfelt thanks for all your time, effort and generosity.
To Leonie who manages the MCA Management Committee, the Film Club and this year wrote our new website and managed its development, a huge thank you.
To Col and Tanya our webmasters, what would we do without you? Thank you.
As 2014 draws to a close we have some good news. We presented our case for upgrading Mandalong Road to LMCC Council meeting last Monday in the Public Access sessions. Many LMCC Councillors showed great interest in the case we presented. There will be an inspection of the road with councillors and council officers, and council staff will inspect Mandalong Road ASAP with a view of costing the proposed walking/riding track. They will also look at engaging with the PAC process and discussions touched on the possibility of a VPA! One thing is certain…we finally gained their attention! And we also gained the attention of the media. An interview recorded directly after the meeting by an ABC reporter resulted in a segment on Radio 1233 the following morning. After twelve months of frustration with negotiations with Centennial this breakthrough with LMCC gives us encouragement to look forward to a successful 2015.
